BIGDADDYHORRORREVIEW on the Independent Feature length Horror film GHOUL SOCIETY

Ghoul Society

Remember a little horror comedy that came out in the mid 80’s called “The Return of the Living Dead” starring horror icons Linnea Quigly (Night of the Demons) and Clu Gulagar (Feast). Remember how it featured some old school zombie violence? Remember how it featured some twisted dark humor? Remember how it merged the two together to create a memorable horror experience? If you can answer yes to the above questions, then you will have some kind of idea what Ghoul Society is aiming for.

Ghoul Society, directed by Wade Brown & Scott Kelly, which is currently filming aims to make its own stake in the indie horror world by combining old school violence with some dark humor and elements of nostalgia that horror fans grew up loving. Ghoul Society follows two best friends who embark on their first semester of Conorsdale college. Little do they know that their lives will be consumed not only by the college lifestyle, but by gruesome murders orchestrated by a secret midnight society.

Ghoul Society stars Daniel Johnson, Patrick McCrory, Sarah Snyder and Colin Rhodes and is expected to continue filming through till about June 24th where it will then enter post production. Ghoul Society gets points for overall ambition for trying to fuse together genres on a low budget. The question is, can it pull it off? Guess, we’ll just have to wait and see….
