Hey guys
I really gotta make updating this a priority BUT I am here to play catchup. Now the last time we spoke, Anthony Greene’s “THICK” had already screened I believe twice … BUT here is some news for you … THICK since then has screened 2 more times! Again in Washington, D.C at Busboys and Poets (dope ass spot) and we brought it to screen in my hometown, Baltimore, M.D at the Landmark Theater, downtown HarborEast! It was a sold-out crowd in DC & and a sizable one at the Baltimore screening!

Im just playing catchup here and filling you guys in on what happened late last year! Well you all remember me blogging about AGreene’s Thriller “THICK”! Well it had its first screening at last years #RIFE film festival. For those who may not know what RIFE stands for, its short for “Reel Independent Film Extravaganza” ! Here numerous films are screened from all over the world, awards are given to films, and actors alike ! It is just a wonderful event that has been taken place for a number of years and is spearheaded by AGreenes production company “SkyRocket productions“! BUT theres more! The first screening of “THICK” was SOLDOUT as well as the Second Screening !! Frickin AWESOME !!I also have some pics of the cast/crew as well at the event(RIFE) for the films first screening ! Twas an awesome night and Im just thankful to have had the opportunity to be present !

For those who aren’t following me via my #Facebook Fanpage @: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Actor-Dominique-Spencer/104852579588294 then I am pleased to inform you that Robbie Soto’s feature length drama film “Reminisce” #Reminisce will be having its official Red Carpet Screening/Premiere in Hagerstown, MD at the Leitersburg Cinema at 7p.m on Saturday September 21st! Tickets are 20$. You heard that right, another screening!! It was LOCALLY filmed with local talent (some of the best in MD, D.C., VA, W.VA, PA and NY). You’ll see me starring in the film in the role of “Mark“. It’s a heartwarming story that will tug at your emotions. The production team behind the film felt that it needed to be shown again due to how well it was received at the pre-screening 🙂 THANK YOU!

Ontario, Vince, Lucky and Littles, friends since birth, brothers till death. Coming from nothing they have begun to find themselves engaged in the ruthless Baltimore drug trade. They will stop at nothing to take control of it all, including taking out the most powerful mobster of the city – Michael Caprisci. As they systematically begin terminating the competition they have to engage a tangled yet simplistic plan to get Caprisci out of the game using of all people, his son Nicki, a slick, fast talker who prefers booze and women over his father’s lifestyle. In the end, Nicki’s drug problem will aid the group in bringing his father down. As the plan develops, Ontario finds out that some of his own rank and file are conducting business behind his back. He needs to send a message to let them know who is in charge, but when one of his closest allies ends up starting a war, he has to make a decision on what is more important, business or friendship. So as the war begins, who will win? Or in this game…is there really a winner? Thug Life is an in depth look into the world of street crime and those who rule the streets.
“Thug Life: All in the Game” is a very realistic and believable gangster film that keeps you at the edge of your seat the entire time. Most of us have no idea what it’s like to live the way these guys do and I’m sure we are grateful we don’t either but the film does a terrific job at showing us that way of life in a in your face and powerful way. The decision to shoot the film in black and white was a very good idea as it adds plenty of grit, mood and style to the story.
The story follows a “firm” on the streets of Baltimore as they attempt their way up the latter to claim more territory in a bold and brutal scheme. The film depicts these guys as relentless and without regard for human life, in some cases not even their own. Sadly what is shown is reality, it happens everyday in almost every city, it’s pretty scary to see the way some parts of society behaves.
Director, Gary Ugarek did a brilliant job in creating a believable gangster film and his cast did an amazing job playing their characters in a realistic and powerful way. There are several very memorable scenes in the film, it is a film that stays with you long after it’s over. I would like to see a sequel for this, there’s plenty of story to tell if they choose to do so. I am not a big fan of the genre but this is certainly one of the more realistic of it’s kind I have seen.

“Thug Life: All in the Game” is a brutal and honest look at life on the streets, it’s not pretty but it sure is effective. I really enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what this talented film-maker has coming out next.

Character wrapped for Anthony Harper’s Drama SAG short film [Jump]
Hello everyone,
Just giving you guys an update on Anthony Harper’s SAG Dramatic short film [Jump]. The film stars: Gordon Timothy (Allen), Antoinette Fisher (Rivera), and Caleb Jackson (Nathan). Along with Courtney Fergusson (Maxine) and myself Dominique Spencer (Pierre). As of today I am now officially character wrapped for the film. Tho the film may still have 1 shoot day left or so(not sure, #DJM, lol) In the film I play the role of “Pierre” whom is the lead character in the film “Allen”s best male friend.
I am thankful to have had the opportunity to work alongside such talented actors and just good people in general(Ima miss you 2! We gotta stay connected) in Gordon and Courtney, take direction from the talented Anthony Harper whose direction was not only spot-on but enhanced the film a great deal. Everyone came to set to with such a humbleness, professionalism, and a just plain ready to work attitude! And our crew was spot on! Knew every shot they wanted, if they didnt like the shot it was not forced but yet taken back to square one and the shot was reworked till they felt like they were ready to shoot. Gotta appreciate that, and I made sure I did not eat before my crew 🙂 Thank you so much everyone (cast & crew) for having me in your prescence this morning and feeding me with those delicious Dunkin Donuts (I ate like 6 of them, lol)! On Day 3 of filming after wrapping principal photography for the short Suspense film [Come Out To Play] I took some candids with my Samsung Galaxy II Skyrocket’s front facing camera with 97% of the cast/crew (I think, lol)! I figured Id mine as well get some candids in there! I had soooo much fun with such a talented group of people!! Various expressions were made in the photos for not reason in particular whatsoever so please #DJM! Thank you for your time and as always #StayTuned and #Enjoy!

Hello everyone,
Here are on-set photos from day 3 of filming for the Independent Suspense film [Come Out To Play]. The film since then has now wrapped principal photography and is now officially in post-production. I had so much fun working with such professional, friendly, and just outright talented individuals in their respective departments within the film! Everyday on set was structured, organized from point A to Z and not to mention holding was stacked with tasty snacks and dinners was always given everynight on set as well. All of my expectations were met and then were taken to the next level. I honestly have to say that I was blessed with an excellent opportunity and I am thankful to have been cast in the role of “Allard”. And to my fellow lead in the film “Ben”, “Jacy” in th film who was spot-on with his performance! Im not sure if acting is a lane he wants to pursue but if it isnt Im glad I got to share the screen with him in this film! And to both of my directors, especially Samantha Southern, who was on my ass since the audition but I know she was so critical of my performance she knew that I could deliver a memorable performance in the role, and I know we both can say that we acheived our goals both as a director & as an actor, thank you for being so demanding! I have nothing but praise to give to everyone who was apart of this film cast/crew, I cant stress that enough! I CANT STRESS THAT ENOUGH! – Thank you so much for this opportunity and believing in me 🙂
